Pastor Travis enjoys reading, hunting and all things Israel. He came to be the Senior Pastor at FBC Richmond in October of 2020. He and his wife, Jessica have three children JaiCee, Silas and Titus.

Rachel Cobb

Director of Preschool & Children's Ministries

Bachelors of Science in Child and Family Studies with a Family Studies Emphasis;
 Eastern Kentucky University
Rachel enjoys spending any down time with her family. She loves reading, crafting and occasionally singing. Rachel came to FBC as a college student. She joined the staff in June of 2002 and has been working with preschoolers, children and families since. Rachel serves the KBC as a VBS Consultant and as a trainer for Children’s Ministry. Rachel has worked with preschoolers and children in many capacities including coaching, teaching preschool and teaching tumbling since 1995. Rachel and her husband, Chad, have three beautiful daughters, Kaylan (18), Kylee (13), and Khloe (7). Her family serves FBC in various ways and enjoys doing ministry together.

Steve coleman

Minister to Youth & Families

Master Arts Christian Education; The Southern Baptist Seminary
Bachelors of Science Communications; Middle Tennessee State University
Associate Degree in Journalism; Cleveland State.
Steve has many passions such as journaling, reading, woodworking, camping and motorcycling. He came to FBC as Minister to Youth and Families May 2008 and has worked with students in some capacity since 1981. He and his wife Sula (soo-la) have 2 adult children with 6 wonderful grandchildren!

Sam Newman

Minister of Education/Discipleship

Masters Degree, Southern Seminary; Bachelor's Degree, Union University. Sam and his wife Tina and have three adult children. Pastor Sam loves spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoys hiking, biking and basketball. His life calling and passion is to be a Disciple-Maker and has been serving in ministry at First Baptist Church since 2006.

Zac salyer

College/Discipleship Ministry Intern 

Bachelor’s of Science in Middle Grades Math and Social Studies Education From Eastern Kentucky University
Current Master’s of Divinity student at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a focus in Christian Ministries
Zac has been both an intern at First Baptist where he serves with the College Ministry and an intern at the Baptist Campus Ministry at EKU since he graduated from EKU in 2019. In his free time Zac enjoys reading, lifting weights, anything baseball or football, watching movies and playing video games.

Bill wright

Bill enjoys reading, travel and spending time with family. After serving churches in Kentucky and North Carolina as Senior Pastor, he came to FBC Richmond in November of 2016 to lead senior adult ministries. He and his wife, Vicky are parents to son Christopher and daughter-in-law Lauren and grandparents to Thomas.
